User Authentication, License Restrictions and Use of the Library's Electronic Resources, and Contact Information for eResource Access Problems
User Authentication: For the Health Sciences Library's electronic resources user authentication (access authorization with NetID/PW login by current students, faculty, and staff of the University) is required only for off-campus access. No authentication is required for on-campus access. This is important for the library not only for verifying user status and affiliation with the University but for gathering internal usage statistics, which is very important for the library for collection evaluation, development, and management purposes. NOTE: the library does not gather, keep or share any personal information.
NetID:
NetID and NetID password are not the same as SOLAR ID and SOLAR password

License/Copyright Restrictions: The library's electronic resources are for academic or research purposes only as opposed to commercial uses. Publishers/vendors impose various restrictions in license agreements such as prohibiting downloading excessive portions of contents and electronic distribution of information. For example, posting downloaded material to discussion lists would be considered a violation of the license agreement by most publishers/vendors.
For some of the library's Electronic Resources (some journals and a couple of databases), remote access is not allowed. Some of these can be accessed from all campus computers and some from computers within the library only. Restrictions are explained in the notes (in brackets) at the end of each title on the E-Journals list.
