Interlibrary Loan: Borrowing Materials
Articles
- Request articles through ILLiad.
- Provide complete citations and avoid abbreviations whenever possible.
- Articles may be picked-up at the Health Sciences Library circulation desk, mailed to a campus address or accessed through e-mail.
- The above choices may be set by accessing your user account in ILLiad.
- The ILL staff will try their best to obtain items you request, but there are no guarantees.
- Lending library copy limits range from 30 to 50 pages. A request greater than 50 pages may be rejected by a lending library.
- Lending libraries, due to copyright restrictions, may not fill multiple article requests from the same journal.
- Interlibrary Loan cannot be used to request articles for class reserve.
- Articles not picked-up within one month will be taken off the Circulation Desk hold shelf and placed on file for an additional one month.
- Articles not picked-up within two months will be discarded.
- Patrons are responsible for any costs incurred for filled article requests. This also applies to discarded articles not picked up within 60 days.

Books
- Request books through ILLiad.
- Provide complete citations whenever possible.
- The ILL staff will try their best to obtain items you request, but there are no guarantees.
- Books may only be picked-up at the Health Sciences Library circulation desk.
- Interlibrary loan cannot be used for class materials, e.g. class reserve.
- Loans need to be returned to the Health Sciences Library by 5pm on the due date.
- Loan period extensions may be requested online by accessing their ILLiad account or by contacting the Health Sciences Library circulation desk at 444-2512.
- Loan period extensions are up to the discretion of the lending library, if renewed, users will be notified of the new due date.
- Requests for textbooks for current classes will not be submitted.
- Loans not picked-up by users will be returned to the lending library by the due date.
- Library users are responsible for any charges incurred.
